Embed the exhibitor widget
The exhibitor widget displays your exhibitor list directly on your external website (event showcase site, CMS, etc.). Everything is configured from Eveos: search, taxonomy filters, grid or carousel layout, pagination, appearance, and even fully custom HTML templates.
Create a widget
Section titled “Create a widget”Widgets are managed at the session level, under “Settings” → “Widgets”.
- Open the relevant session.
- In the sidebar, open “Settings” then “Widgets”.
- Select “Create widget”.
- Fill in the base fields:
- “Name” and “Description” (internal use);
- “Content type”: choose Exhibitors;
- “Template”: predefined layout (grid, list…);
- “Language” of the rendering;
- “Pagination” and “Items per page”;
- “Allowed domains”: the websites allowed to embed the widget;
- “Active”: an inactive widget no longer renders on the site.
- Select “Save”.
Search bar and filters
Section titled “Search bar and filters”The “Search Bar” section controls the search tools available to visitors:
- “Enable search bar”: shows or hides the whole bar.
- “Enable text search”: free-text search field, with a customizable “Placeholder text”.
- “Enable taxonomy filtering”: adds filter dropdowns based on your taxonomies (industry, country…). Use “Select taxonomies” to choose which ones to offer.
- “Hide empty taxonomies”: hides filters with no results.
- “Hide result counts next to terms”: hides counters in the dropdowns.
- “Enable linked module filtering”: filters based on custom modules linked to exhibitors.
- “Reset button label”: text of the button that clears all filters.
The bar’s style (background, text, border, radius, shadow, font…) is configured in the same section.
Display options
Section titled “Display options”The “Display options” section gathers everything shown on exhibitor cards:
- “Disable click”: cards are no longer clickable and the detail popup never opens. Handy for a plain logo strip.
- “Hide the name”: shows the logo only. The name stays in the image alt text and in the detail popup.
- “Hide booth number”: hides the booth number on cards.
- “Initials without photo”: for exhibitors without a logo, displays initials — “Two letters (e.g. JD / AC)” or “Single letter (e.g. J / A)”.
With the grid template, three extra settings appear:
- “Card size”: auto or a fixed size (xs to xl). With a fixed size, cards wrap naturally.
- “Items per row”: fixed number of columns (used when the card size is auto).
- “Center items”: centers the last row when it is incomplete.
Logo box
Section titled “Logo box”Logos uploaded by exhibitors come in very uneven shapes: some are square, others are long wordmarks. Without framing, the grid looks unbalanced.
The “Logo box” setting gives every logo the same footprint: Off, Small (80px), Medium (120px), Large (180px), Extra large (240px) or Custom.
Once enabled, it unlocks these options:
- “Inner padding”: the breathing room around the logo inside its box.
- “Width ratio”: the box width equals its height multiplied by this ratio. 1 gives a square; raise it towards 1.6 or 2 to give long wordmarks room to breathe. Every box keeps the same width, so alignment stays perfect.
- “Sizing”:
- Contain — each logo fills its box as much as possible. Simple, but a square logo will look far bigger than a wordmark.
- Optical — equalises the area each logo actually covers. This is the setting to pick for a balanced partner strip.
- “Target fill” (optical mode): the share of the box each logo should cover. 55 to 65% usually works well.
- “Enlarge small logos”: off by default, because enlarging a file that is too small makes it blurry.
If some logos stay visibly smaller than the rest after switching to optical mode, enable “Enlarge small logos”: their source file is probably smaller than the intended render size.
Pagination
Section titled “Pagination”Four modes are available:
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| “None” | All exhibitors are loaded at once. |
| “Load More” | A button loads the next page. |
| “Pagination” | Classic page-number navigation. |
| “Infinite Scroll” | The next page loads automatically on scroll. |
Carousel
Section titled “Carousel”The “Carousel” template lays items out on a single scrolling row. It is available for exhibitors, the program and speakers, and is configured in the “Carousel” section.
Movement
Section titled “Movement”| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| “Snapping (manual)” | Classic item-by-item scrolling. |
| “Automatic slideshow” | Advances on its own, with an adjustable “Delay between slides”. |
| “Free drag” | The visitor drags with momentum. |
| “Continuous scroll (marquee)” | Uninterrupted flow, logo-strip style. “Scrolling speed” and “Direction” adjustable. |
Some visitors turn on a setting on their computer or phone that limits animations — it is called “Reduce motion” on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. For them the carousel is displayed still and scrolled by hand. This is automatic, with nothing to configure on your side.
Layout
Section titled “Layout”- “Items per view”:
- Auto (content width) — each item takes the width of its own content;
- Equal (widest item) — every item adopts the width of the widest one;
- a number from 1 to 6, with distinct values for “Tablet” and “Mobile”.
- “Spacing”: the gap between items, in pixels.
- “Alignment”: Start, Center or End.
- “Loop”: restarts from the first item after the last one.
- “Drag / swipe”: lets visitors move the carousel with mouse or finger.
- “Pause on hover”: suspends automatic movement when the mouse enters the carousel.
- “Previous / next arrows” and “Pagination dots”.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”- “Strip background”: colour behind the whole carousel.
- “Item background”: use full transparency for a bare logo strip.
- “Border width” and “Border colour”: a width of 0 removes the border.
- “Corner radius”, “Item height”, horizontal and vertical “Padding”.
- “Item shadow”.
- “Black and white”: Off, Always, or Colour on hover — applies to images only.
Filter which exhibitors are shown
Section titled “Filter which exhibitors are shown”Independently of the visitor-facing filters, you can restrict which exhibitors are included in the widget: by category, status, tags, presence of a photo or description, complete profile, or via an advanced query.
Custom templates
Section titled “Custom templates”For full control over the rendered HTML, the widget accepts a custom template with variables and control blocks:
- Variables:
{{id}},{{name}},{{description}},{{boothNumber}},{{logoUrl}},{{websiteUrl}},{{category}}. - Control blocks:
{{#each items}}…{{/each}}: loop over exhibitors;{{#if variable}}…{{/if}}: conditional rendering;{{#if variable}}…{{else}}…{{/if}}: with an alternative.
A helper built into the form lists the available variables and inserts the blocks for you.
Custom CSS and JavaScript
Section titled “Custom CSS and JavaScript”The “Advanced” section goes further:
- “Custom CSS”: styles injected on the host page along with the widget.
- “Custom JavaScript”: code executed after the widget renders. The
variables
container(the widget’s DOM element) andconfig(the widget configuration) are available.
Embed the widget on your site
Section titled “Embed the widget on your site”The “Embed code” is available in the widget form. Copy it and paste it into your site’s HTML page:
<div id="eveos-widget-WIDGET_ID"></div><script src="https://dashboard.eveos.com/embed/v1/loader.js" data-widget-id="WIDGET_ID" data-organizer-id="ORGANIZER_ID" data-project-id="PROJECT_ID" data-session-id="SESSION_ID" data-target="#eveos-widget-WIDGET_ID"></script>Locked taxonomy filter
Section titled “Locked taxonomy filter”The optional data-taxonomy-filter attribute pins a filter that visitors
cannot change — handy to show, for example, only exhibitors from one industry
on a dedicated page:
data-taxonomy-filter="industry:health;country:france"- The format is
taxonomyKey:term, with;to combine several filters (all must match). - Locked taxonomies are removed from the visible filter dropdowns.
Updates and caching
Section titled “Updates and caching”Widget data is cached for performance: your changes typically appear on the
site in under a minute. To verify a change immediately, append
?eveos-preview=1 to the host page URL (or add data-preview="1" to the
script tag): preview mode bypasses the cache.
